14-17 November 2024: Mark and Marie will travel to the 90th Annual Meeting of the American Musicological Society (AMS) in Chicago to present their research in the panel Dis-eased Musical Bodies, co-organised with Cambride colleague and Advisory Board member Bettina Varwig.

29-31 October: Aria will present his research on Azerbaijan-Turkish folk music at the International Baltic Musicological Conference “Music History Beyond State Borders: Micro-, Meso-, and Macro-Regionality of Musical Culture”, organized by Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and the IMS Study Group Music and Cultural Studies at Vilnius, Lithuania.
24-25 October 2024: Mark will present a paper entitled ‘Playing pain in Heinrich Biber’s scordatura music’ at the ‘Writing the Self in Pain: Historical Perspectives’ conference, taking place at the University of Helsinki. The conference is organised by the project ‘Experiencing Agony – Pain and Embodiment in the British Atlantic World, 1600–1900’.
17-19 October 2024: Emma and Mark will be going to Mozarteum University Salzburg to deliver papers at the Annual Conference of the Austrian Society for Musicology (ÖGMw) on “Democracy – Materialization in and through Music”.
10/11 October 2024: GOING VIRAL’s 1st Workshop “Music, Emotions and the Body” with Bettina Varwig , including a public guest lecture (10 Oct, 19:00, Seilerstätte 26) and a discussion group open to the public (11 Oct, 15:00-18:00, Kreuzherrengasse 1, registration required via email). More info here.
